We are called to be disciples, taught in the ways of God’s Word. This ministry makes no distinction from the young to the old. Our nursery time to our children’s ministries will devote their time to sound biblical teaching according to age. The Youth and young adult’s ministry will focus primarily on growing them in faith, so they enhance their walk with Christ. This entails not only knowing Jesus, but beginning the process of building a lifelong relationship with Him. Adults are given further help in their walk by having men’s prayer breakfasts, special activities, Bible studies and church get-togethers. We currently have Sunday morning nursery and children’s church for children 10 and under. They enjoy arts and crafts, and the teachers bring the biblical stories to life for our precious children. The youth program or Legacy is a time for pre-teens and teens to interact with scripture, while being edified and directed into correct interpretation. Student leaders are trained on responsibility, biblical knowledge and they are given opportunities to lead smaller events. Our young adults are given opportunities to be trained in the Bible through Sunday or Wednesday Bible studies. They are highly encouraged to co-lead classes, thus building-up their confidence and developing future leaders. biblestudy2Adult Christians are encouraged to know Jesus fully and at Oceanside Community Church, we facilitate a four step process of getting to know Christ. Christianity 101 gives Christians a basic understanding of salvation, the Church and its ordinances. Christianity 201 describes God’s Word, its power and why we need it. Christianity 301 shows believers how to mentor fellow believers in the Word and in their conduct. Christianity 401 is the final step, where Oceanside Community Church trains believers according to their spiritual gifts. These classes prepare the church for Christian ministry, according to God’s call on each individual and the church as a whole.

Ephesians 4:11-16 says, “It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” “Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”
